CHARACTER
Name: Mulan
Canon: Once Upon a Time
Age: Early/Mid 20's
Timeline: (spoilersish) After she fails to tell Aurora her feelings and leaves to join Robin Hood and his Merry Men
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A
Personality: Mulan is a warrior driven by both duty and honor. She is also confident in her skills as both a warrior and a strategic battle planner. When she saved Robin Hood's son from Peter Pan's shadow, she was confident that her plan would work. When it did, she boasted and reassured everyone that the plan had worked because it was her plan. Because of her status as a woman, Mulan likes to prove that she is more than capable of handling any situation that a man can. She wears armor that most male warriors in her village would wear. This however, does not mean that she would hide that she is a woman or is ashamed of it. When she first reveals herself as a woman and Aurora comments on it, she asks "what of it?" Mulan does not let the fact that she is a woman effect her decisions or how she presents herself to the world. Mulan also does not let petty personal grudges get in the way of her duties and missions. When Aurora questions Phillip's decision to travel with another woman, Mulan points out that it doesn't matter what she is and that they were meeting their objective of finding the princess.
When she makes a promise, she will stop at nothing to fulfill that promise, even at someone else's expense. When it came to keeping Princess Aurora safe and fulfilling her promise to Phillip, Mulan was willing to sacrifice Emma and Snow White's chances of going home. This can also be seen when Mulan was willing to chop down the beanstalk after Emma made her promise to chop it down after 10 hours. Despite the fact that she knew it would possibly kill Emma and ruin their chances of stopping Cora, Mulan was determined to fulfill her promise.
Mulan is very guarded with her emotions. She tends to show very little emotion around most people. The only person that she shows most of her emotions to is Aurora. However, she will still not reveal everything to even the princess. It was only until after Neal and Robin Hood spoke with Mulan, that she was confident enough to tell Aurora her feelings for her. Mulan will also always do what she thinks is best for others even when it comes at the cost of her own happiness. When she was about to tell Aurora her feelings for her, she stopped as soon as she found out Aurora was pregnant with Phillip's child. In order to protect their happiness, she was willing to sacrifice her own happiness for the happiness of two people she cared about.
Mulan can be fairly straight and to the point when it comes to an objective. She does not spare other's feelings when things need to get done. When Aurora insists on following Mulan to fight the Wraith, Mulan says that she'll only slow her down. This can also be seen when she works with Belle. When Mulan is too injured to fight the Yaoguai, she insists that Belle fight the beast herself. She doesn't beat around the bush and ignores Belle's arguments that she cannot.
Background: I couldn't make this shit up if I tried
Abilities: Mulan is a skilled warrior and strategist. She is capable of creating battle plans that are very successful. Along with her battle plans, she is a very skilled warrior and can fight off most enemies. She is also has many survival skills. She's able to make fires, camp, and hunt. She has knowledge of herbology and uses it to make various powders and potions that help her along her way.
Mulan's sword has been called the most powerful blade in the land. It is sharp enough to cut through a magic beanstalks and can deflect magic.
